Now anyone who knows me knows that I was determined to have Eli in December. I really wanted to have him on December 31st...His birthday will always be a party none the less :-) But, my main reason was for that whopping tax deduction that comes along with having a baby this year! So I did my taxes last night via TurboTax and to our surprise...it really did pay off having him! We got to claim him on our 2008 taxes and it is a huge deduction that you are not counting on throughout the year! Needless to say we are getting a return and we NEED it. Bob's new job will not be paying him until the end of this month and I am recieving short term disability then a couple weeks of non-paid time off. Plus my checks for the remainder of the year will be slightly smaller because I have my summer pay paid out to me...All is confusing I know, but Eli really came through in a pinch :-)
It really wouldn't have mattered what day he came on. We love having him around, but the write off is a bonus!
