Eli is developing a little personality. He is recognizing voices and faces and what's great is he smiling...on purpose! It is really neat to watch him grow. Delaney is really enjoying him now as well. She makes sure she gives him a little kiss and hug before she leaves for school and before she goes to bed.
We are actually able to go out on little excursions. Recently we have been able to walk to pick up Delaney from school. We go to the grocery store too. We have been to lunch with Great Grand mom Mann as well. I have to admit that traveling with 2 kids is a little challenging. Delaney is a little pokey, but she is able to take care of herself, leaving me to take care of Eli. We are a great team!
Delaney is doing really well in school. She just got her report card this week and she got all A's. She loves school and is really excelling in reading. She is right on target. She actually enjoys is for now...that's more than I can say for her Daddy. Maybe she will get a love of reading from me! We will be signing up for softball in a few weeks. The season will begin at the end of March I think. We are really looking forward to that.
Bob started his new job with the University of Delaware this week. They are really working him hard. On his second day he had to work in Georgetown and on his third day he has to stay late to finish a job. He didn't get home until 9pm. He is really enjoying himself and is thankful to have a job! He really lucked out with getting this position. There are a lot of perks that come along with this position as well. One that we are really thankful for is free tuition for all!
As for me, I am really enjoying my maternity leave. I don't want to go back :-( I have about 4 weeks left. According to many parents of my students, they really miss me. I can't say I feel the same way, but I have to put my big girl pants on and deal with it! I do have to say that daytime TV STINKS! I have been using my time, trying to get stuff done around the house, resting, reading, and I will start to make an attempt to grade some writing pieces...YUCK! Oh well, I am extremely fortunate to have this much time off and I am definitely enjoying it!
